About Event

Did you know? Since 2000, global electricity access has risen sharply from 75% to 90% (2020). But access means little if power is unreliable, unaffordable, or simply not working. Recent data finds that 1.18 billion people still live in energy poverty—60% more than the 733 million who lack any electricity connection, with over 80% living in sub-Saharan Africa.

Power for All is working to fix this. A global campaign dedicated to #EndingEnergyPovertyFaster, Power for All is working to accelerate the uptake of distributed renewable energy (such as mini-grids and solar home systems) as a reliable, affordable, resilient energy source for those without power. Power for All generates data-driven evidence, mobilizes multi-stakeholder coalitions, drives regulatory and policy changes with national governments, and unifies the voices of the sector to advance universal electrification in emerging economies.

For an example of our work, please see this video on how Power for All is simultaneously tackling energy poverty and improving rural livelihoods in Uganda.
