TOPICS: Climate Emotions in the PNW
As you know, the climate crisis is bearing down hard on the global south; witnessing this and the daily news that affects us here in the US are right in front of us on our screens and in some cases, the air we breathe. If you are ready to unpack your supressed feelings about this, then you found your community. We meet every 5th day of the month. Keep coming back.
TOPICS: This is a peer-support, virtual gathering circle. We will read a brief recent article about the climate crisis or biodiversity loss and then go around the circle to express the emotions the article has brought up for each of us. We do not give advice to one another, nor shame for inaction. We only listen and resonate.
This is not a meditation nor poetry reading type of gathering, this is logic-based, but still tapping into the heart.
A safe space nothing you say will be shared anywhere else. We come together to unburden ourselves from the heaviness of the climate crisis. To acknowledge our feelings is to uncover, discover, and discard the negativity and pent-up feelings that may prevent meaningful engagement with our work and relationships.
This Eco-Resilience Circle will be hosted by Drew Alcoser, a certified One Resilient Earth climate resilience facilitator.
The topic article will be sent to you ahead of time so that you can be acquainted with the material. Or— you are welcome to summarize your own article and share about it. The point is to share your understanding of the topic and/or experience; an expression of your emotions/lack of strength; and finally, an expression of any hope that you are striving for.
Please be sure to have a private and quiet space for this gathering with minimal distractions, camera-on is preferred to enhance feelings of safety and comfort to feel heard.
