​Session Overview: While emissions reduction will play the biggest role in reaching our global climate goals, carbon dioxide removal (CDR) will be necessary to address hard-to-decarbonize sectors and legacy emissions. Marine CDR approaches have a high potential for co-benefits, such as ocean de-acidification. Yet, many open questions exist about how we can deploy marine CDR solutions in scalable, measurable, and environmentally responsible ways. Join us as we discuss the future of marine CDR and the roles we can each play in responsibly scaling this critical solution.

​Who should attend? To responsibly scale marine CDR, we need diverse groups of stakeholders to consider and discuss the associated opportunities and risks. From private investors identifying and funding promising approaches to policymakers designing supportive regulations to infrastructure and corporate partners providing project opportunities, to community members advocating for their local and global ecosystems, to researchers and entrepreneurs pursuing promising new innovations, we all have a role to play. We welcome participants from all of these groups to our Ripple and we plan to tailor the discussion based on participant backgrounds and interests.
