​About Founder Fundamentals

​Interested in building your entrepreneurial skills to launch your startup?

​YSpace, York University’s entrepreneurship hub, is partnering with the Markham Small Business Centre (MSBC) to host a 12-week entrepreneurial educational workshop series called Founders Fundamentals.

​The Founders Fundamental Series are designed to help you gain the basic skills and understanding necessary for starting a business, while also connecting you with local resources for potential next steps as you progress in your entrepreneurial ventures.

​Individuals who attend at least 9 out of the 11 workshops, over 60 minutes each session, will receive a YSpace, York University Certificate of Completion, illustrating your dedication to learning about the essentials of launching a successful business.

• ​Session 2 - Setting Up a Social Enterprise - Jan 30.

• ​Session 3 - Business Operating System - Feb 6.

• ​Session 4 - Intro to the Retail Landscape - Feb 13.

• ​Reading Week

• ​Session 5 - Establishing a PR Strategy - Feb 27.

• ​Session 6 - SEO Strategies for Growth - March 5.

• ​Session 7 - Bootstrapping to Success - March 12.

• ​Session 8 - Pricing your Product or Service - March 19.

• ​Session 9 - How to do your Business Taxes - March 26.

• ​Session 10 - Navigating the Entrepreneurial Landscape - Apr 2.

• ​Session 11 - Developing a Business Community - Apr 9
