General Rules
Standard chess rules apply.
It will be a 20-minutes game. 5-minutes tie-break if necessary.
If a player fails to arrive within 10 minutes of the round start, they will be forfeited, resulting in an automatic loss.
Watches, mobile phones, or any electronic devices are strictly prohibited on the player's body during the match.
Talking, making unnecessary noise, or disturbing the opponent is not allowed.
A first offense will result in a warning. Repeated violations will lead to a direct loss.
Participants are advised and expected to keep their phones on silent or DND mode.
If a phone rings or causes any disturbance during the game, it will result in an automatic loss.
Pre-arranged wins or draws will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.
Players are strictly prohibited from opening any other application or browser on the PC during the match.
The competition will follow the Swiss format for pairings and progression.
If multiple players finish with the same top score, a tiebreak match of 5 minutes per player will determine the final standings.
The matches shall be held on a popular online chess platform. The pairings will be done as discretionary to the organizers.
If a player has any query to be raised regarding the condition/functionality of the PC allotted to them, they may do so at max within 5 minutes of the start of a game.
If a player is suspected of cheating, the co-ordinators have the right to review the case and take necessary action.
The co-ordinators’ decision will be considered final in case of any dispute(s).
