Faruk Eczacibasi is President of the Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV) which he co-founded in 1995. In this role, he contributes to the preparation of numerous studies on related issues as well as the shaping of public policy. TBV's mission is to assist in the transformation of Turkey into an information society through R&D, policy recommendations, and concrete projects. Faruk Eczacıbaşı began working in the Eczacıbaşı Group in 1980 after completing his graduate work at Berlin Technical University, and for many years managed the Group’s e-transformation process. In 1996, Faruk Eczacıbaşı assumed his current position as Vice-Chairperson of the Eczacıbaşı Group and also serves as Chairperson or vice-chairperson of several Eczacıbaşı Group companies. In 1999, he also became President of the Eczacıbaşı Sports Club. Drawing on his experiences, Faruk Eczacıbaşı published a book in 2018 that analyzes the transformational changes taking place in Turkey and around the world as a result of new digital technologies. Entitled Daha Yeni Başlıyor (This Is Only the Beginning), the book considers how the accelerating pace of technological change is affecting individuals, institutions, societies and economies, and discusses ways to prepare for the positive and negative impacts of these changes.
Cem Leon Menase is the Chief of Staff at Be Node, a Turkish Informatics Foundation platform. He also works at Founder One impact investing fund as Impact Lead and Investment Committee member. Additionally, he is one of the co-founders of an AI startup called Captanomy, which monitors companies’ ESG risks and performances. He is the advisor to Faruk Eczacıbaşı, Vice Chairman of Eczacıbaşı Holding. Cem completed his BS in Economics at ITU and MA in Management at Harvard.
