LA BioStart Boot Camp Graduation & Reception
Come celebrate the completion of LA BioStart’s Bioscience Entrepreneurs Boot Camp by our cohort 6 participants. We will also acknowledge the support of our partners and extend our thanks to all biotech industry executives and subject matter experts for their dedication and efforts in making this boot camp a great success! In addition, we will present the 2023 LA BioStar award to Dr. Gerard Jensen, Vice President of Operations, Gilead Sciences, La Verne, CA. Dr. Jensen has been a long-term partner and supporter of CSU biotechnology training programs, including Cal State LA’s Post-baccalaureate Biotech Certificate Program. Additionally, Dr. Jensen has been a mentor and speaker to our boot camp entrepreneurs since the first cohort in 2017! Furthermore, Dr. Jensen has spent decades building the Gilead Science sites in Los Angeles, developing and manufacturing life-saving medicines.
There will be a short program starting at approximately 6:30 pm, followed by a networking reception. Finger food and beverages will be provided. This event will be held in the Cal State LA University Club (located in the Golden Eagle Building on the campus map linked below).
Daily permits for visitors include 4-hour permits for $5 that can be set up via PayByPhone, or purchased using automated pay stations (yellow color kiosks located in parking structures). There are also public transportation options to get to campus via Metrolink (https://metrolinktrains.com/), Metro (https://www.metro.net/), and Foothill Transit (http://foothilltransit.org/). Planning to get to Cal State LA via rideshare? Visitors can be dropped off outside the University Student Union (#5), north of the Golden Eagle Building (#6).
