Event Description

FirstGen is hosting a panel conversation on selling into health systems and large health providers.

There is amazing energy for bringing technology and innovation into healthcare. Yet, selling into large health providers is one of the most difficult sales processes. Join us for a panel discussion as we discuss the challenges, realities and opportunities for selling into large health providers and what founders should be doing to increase their chances of successfully selling into these providers.

Our Panelists:

Anuradhika A. - Is the System Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at CommonSpirit Health and focuses her time on Strategic Investment Fund and other Innovation efforts. She is a multi-faceted leader with a diverse background in strategy, operations and health care startups, with 15+ years of experience in leading partnerships, catalyzing revenue growth and scaling innovative solutions and business functions from ground up. Prior to CommonSpirit Health, Anuradhika was VP of Partner Success at Docent Health and held multiple senior roles at Virginia Mason Medical Center, most recently as the Director of Clinical Integration, Care Coordination and Palliative Care.

Dov Shamir, PhD - Is the Founding Head of Elementa Labs, where he leads the Mount Sinai Health Systems efforts to identify and grow a portfolio of healthcare and biotechnology startups to improve patient outcomes and operations at the health system. Dov is a former founder, with over 10 years of experience in the entrepreneurship ecosystem, with a multidisciplinary background that covers neuroscience, immunology, engineering, and finance. He earned his PhD in Neuroscience and Physiology from NYU’s Grossman School of Medicine. Dov also holds certificates in Corporate Finance and Valuation from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Yeshiva University.

Erfan Karim - Erfan Karim, a first-generation immigrant, has dedicated nearly a decade to NYC Health + Hospitals, rising through leadership roles with a focus on innovation and excellence in healthcare delivery. As Assistant Vice President for Mobile Integrated Health, he leads the Virtual ExpressCare initiative, expanding urgent care services. Karim's leadership integrates consumer-centric practices, enhancing accessibility and patient focus. He spearheads Digital Health initiatives, including MyChart patient portal and Remote Patient Monitoring programs, revolutionizing patient-centered care. His strategic approach seamlessly merges clinical operations with technology, empowering patients and optimizing healthcare affordability and effectiveness. Karim's relentless commitment to improving healthcare, inspired by his humble beginnings, drives transformative change within the nation's largest public hospital system.

Vadim Gordin - Vadim is a former founder who has sold into a variety of health systems including long term care, hospitals, and state-wide agencies. He currently teaches founders at NYU's Future Labs to do the same, both in their publicly facing no-equity Catalyst Accelerator (applications close March 31st) and NYU's healthcare focused Venture Studio.

Kirat Kharode, JD, MHS, FACHE is a serial founder, and previous health system executive at 5 different systems. Kirat was the Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer at CarePoint Health System, Vice President & COO at Liberty Health System (JCMC) and Associate Hospital Administrator at St. Christophers Hospital amongst others. He co-founded and leads HealCo. which encompasses ventures like Pinewood Family Care Co. HealCo is an AI-enhanced platform revolutionizing healthcare delivery and co-piloting with the nation’s inaugural Health System Without Walls®. It democratizes access to healthcare at a local level, significantly lowers healthcare costs, and mitigates provider burnout. His notable contributions have earned him numerous prestigious awards (e.g. American College of Healthcare Executive’s Regent Award). Kirat has a Bachelors from Pennsylvania State University, a Master’s from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a Juris Doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
