​Why might someone make a short film, and where do you even begin? How do you make a feature film and get it off the ground? 

​Jordan McGarry, Head of Talent Development & Production at Film London, joins us for a Q&A to delve into the art and craft of cinematic storytelling. With a deep understanding of the film industry and a passion for supporting emerging talent, McGarry will share how Film London nurtures filmmakers and helps them thrive.

​About Jordan McGarry 

​Jordan McGarry is Film London’s Head of Talent Development and Production, heading the team that discovers and develops London’s emerging filmmakers.

​The team’s work includes; selecting and supporting emerging filmmakers and creators through the Production Finance Market’s New Talent strand and the innovative UPstream IP showcase. Film London also delivers BFI NETWORK funding in London, commissioning shorts including the Sundance-selected Precious Hair & Beauty and LFF-selected Ratthum. We also deliver regular support and inspiration for creators through the Film London Labs series.

​Previously, Jordan headed Vimeo’s curation department, programming Staff Picks and developing Vimeo Originals before the platform moved away from such things. Jordan has also worked as a journalist, in festival programming, video commissioning and as an executive producer at Partizan London.
