The word ‘qualia’ means the unique, subjective experiences each of us has—the colors we see, the emotions we feel, the meaning we assign to the world around us. It reminds us that reality is not something outside of us, but something we co-create within.
Qualia is also a recently launched full-dome film experience designed for planetariums, composed and performed by sound alchemist Laura Inserra. It is taking people on a journey through the five Elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space, combining the transformative powers of sound, ancient wisdom traditions, and cutting-edge technology to awaken your senses, deepen your connection with nature, and inspire inner transformation.
There are so many precious things in our lives that we perceive deeply but are unable to fully describe or measure. Inspired by Laura’s film, we are opening a conversation about The Power of Experiential Art and Music & The Concept of Qualia.
FILM: Laura will show us a few glimpses of the film to get a taste (albeit from a computer screen) of how it is to engage deeply with art, music, and the essence of your own consciousness. Each of us holds a one-of-a-kind presence, an innate gift, a role in the unfolding play of life. How can we rediscover our agency to contribute to our collective journey?
PANEL: Together with sound alchemist Laura Inserra and renowned neuroscientist Adam Gazzaley we will discuss the intersections of experiential film, music, art, and experiential medicine — guiding us to amazing insights on what sparks personal transformation and collective evolution.
