How Justina Blakeney Built a Home Empire Through Collaborations, Creativity, and Constant Evolution

Join us for a special session in our founders-in-home series featuring Justina Blakeney--artist, designer, bestselling author, and the creative force behind the wildly beloved lifestyle brand, Jungalow®.

From humble beginnings as a blog in a plant-filled living room to becoming a Certified B Corp with partnerships across Ruggable, Anthropologie, Keds, Pottery Barn Kids, Band Aid, and more, Justina has redefined what it means to build a brand that is as soulful as it is scalable. Through color, culture, nature, and fearless creativity, she’s cultivated a design aesthetic--and business model--that breaks the mold.

This conversation is designed for current and aspiring founders in the home and interiors space--interior designers, artists, makers, and visionaries--who want to build businesses that stand out and stand for something. Justina will share her journey, lessons learned scaling Jungalow®, and how she continues to lead with heart, innovation, and a deep connection to her creative roots.

MORE ABOUT JUSTINA

Justina Blakeney is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, author, and the founder and creative director of the iconic lifestyle brand Jungalow®. Known for her bold use of color, lush botanicals, and joyful maximalism, Justina has built a brand that sits at the intersection of art, wellness, and soulful living.

What began in 2009 as a personal design blog from her tiny, plant-filled living room has grown into a thriving company with a global following and major retail collaborations. Under her creative direction, Jungalow has become a platform for creative expression, community-building, and purpose-driven business—earning B Corp certification in 2025, a testament to the brand’s commitment to social and environmental impact.

Justina is also a New York Times bestselling author, with titles like The New Bohemians and Jungalow: Decorate Wild, inspiring readers to embrace their creativity and cultivate spaces that reflect their truest selves. Her latest book project, Grow: Pathways to Passion, Purpose, and Peace, co-authored with her mother, Dr. Ronnie Blakeney, blends developmental psychology and creative ritual into a transformative card deck and guidebook for self-discovery due out in January 2026.

In addition to her work in design and publishing, Justina is a painter, whose visual art explores themes of identity, transformation, ancestry, and nature. Her first solo exhibition, California Poppy, debuted in April 2025 with ArtWolf Gallery at Una Casa Privada in Los Angeles, showcasing a deeply personal collection of vibrant, symbolic paintings that celebrate resilience, renewal, and the beauty found in life’s cycles.

As an entrepreneur, Justina is passionate about storytelling, brand building, and redefining what success looks like—especially for women of color and creatives forging their own paths. Through speaking engagements, social platforms (where she’s built a combined audience of over 3 million), and her art, she shares not only her vibrant aesthetic but the deeper philosophies that fuel her work: joy as resistance, nature as healer, and creativity as a vital force for both personal and planetary wellness.
