MCP Server Builder Series - July Session (NYC)
Join fellow developers and creators for an interactive event dedicated to Model Context Protocol (MCP) server development. Experience hands-on talks and live demos from community members sharing their latest experiments, lessons learned, and innovative approaches.
Whether you're just starting with MCP or have built multiple servers, this gathering offers practical insights and real-world examples to advance your projects and connect with others pushing the boundaries of what's possible with MCP.
What's to expect:
Anthony Giuliano (Block) will explore how they built the Square MCP server using a layered architecture approach, diving into how it works and how you can use it with open-source AI agents like Goose.
Nick Taylor (Pomerium) will show how to apply fine-grained access control to AI agents using open-source tools and Zero Trust principles, making MCP interactions safer and more secure.
Michael Browning (Postman) will explore how he builds low-code MCP servers and Agents using Postman Flows to accelerate hyper-personalized DevOps workflows.
William Huba (WorkOS) will talk about the MCP ecosystem's dirty little secret: everyone's building servers, but nobody's using OAuth or remote hosting. We'll explore why this matters, live-demo turning a basic MCP server into an enterprise-ready powerhouse with AuthKit, and show how proper auth is your ticket to selling into organizations with actual security requirements.
Amanda Martin (Apollo) will demo and get under the hood of an MCP tool built on Apollo MCP Server inspired by the MCP Server Builder community events.
Plenty of time to connect – Light bites, drinks, and the chance to meet fellow builders in the MCP space.
