GALLERY WEEKEND 2025 ART WALK 5: Potsdamer Straße and Pohlstraße (Eng.)
Join our art historians and art experts on exclusive guided tours through selected galleries. The Art Walks offer unique insights into current exhibitions, exciting artistic positions, and curatorial concepts.
Sandra Teitge leads a walk through the area around Potsdamer Straße and Pohlstraße, visiting current exhibitions that explore the body, perception, and social narratives. At Galerie Tanja Wagner, Šejla Kamerić addresses female resistance, intimacy, and political bodies in In The Darkened Rooms. At Galerie Guido W. Baudach, new works by Japanese artist Hinako Miyabayashi create a space of focus. Her collage paintings on wood and canvas explore subtle material and emotional nuances. In its vast spaces on Potsdamer Straße, Galerie Max Hetzler presents a new exhibition by German photographer Thomas Struth, spanning 40 years of artistic work. At Esther Schipper, two painters are on view: Sun Yitian, who moves between consumer aesthetics and abstraction through hyperrealistic imagery, and Merikokeb Berhanu, whose abstract forms are shaped by the organic visual traditions of Ethiopia. Galerie Thomas Schulte is showing Marina Adams’ abstract painting under the title The Art of Living Slowly, while HUA International presents a collaboration between Tirdad Hashemi, Soufia Erfanian, and Mahsa Saloor — a multilayered project about corporeality, belonging, illness, gender, and spirituality.
