

ACSent Speaker Series: Building a Purpose-Driven Organization
About the Event
The Ateneo Center for Social Entrepreneurship (ACSent), in cooperation with the Kwan Laurel Social Enterprise Fund, presents the inaugural lecture of ACSent Speaker Series. This inaugural features Mr Bernie Liu, Executive Chairman of The Penshoppe Group as he presents a talk titled "Building a Purpose-Driven Organization."
The ACSent Speaker Series: Building a Purpose-Driven Organization will take place on 28 March 2025 at the Loft at Areté, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
About the Speaker
Mr Bernie Liu is the Executive Chairman of the LH Paragon Group. Under its umbrella are businesses in various industries: Matimco (wood manufacturing and retailing), Oakridge Realty (real estate), Greentree Food Solutions (food retail), Clinica Prime (medical services), and Golden ABC (fashion & lifestyle). He also serves as Chairman of the group’s philanthropic arm, LH Foundation. He concurrently sits as Executive Chairman of Golden ABC (GABC), which owns and operates its flagship fashion label Penshoppe, along with OXGN, ForMe, Memo, Regatta, and BOCU.
With his almost 40 years in the industry, Bernie has served as President & Chairman of the Philippine Retailers Association and is currently an Independent Director at PLDT and Mga Likha Ni Inay of CARD MRI.
He was recognized by the Agora Awards for his Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship; he is also a Ten Outstanding Young Men Awardee, and an Entrepreneur of the Year of the Grand Chamber Awards. Under his leadership, the company has repeatedly won at the Outstanding Filipino Retailers Awards and the ASEAN Business Awards. Most recent recognitions have come from the Retail Asia Awards and Asia Pacific Stevie Awards. He has also been conferred the Pro Ecclesia et Pontiface Papal Award for his service and contribution to the church.
Bernie graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of San Carlos and completed the Executive Education Owner/President Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
