Barcelona’s favorite poetry night is back, and we’re bringing even more love and melanin talent your way! Get ready for a soulful journey of spoken word, poetry, live music, freestyle, and rap. Hosted by our resident poet, Karoo Chanti, whose poetry will take you on a journey from the personal to the political. Accompanied by soulful acoustic music, which seamlessly weaves melodic guitar and latin grooves into the atmosphere.
Get ready to see Barcelona’s hottest, emerging Afro-diaspora artists showcase their latest tunes and projects. Alongside live painting and an Afrobeats DJ set to end the night. Don’t miss the magic!
The Philosophy
Afropoesia ia about creating a safe and inclusive space for migrants, women, LGBTQ+ and creatives. We believe in the power of self-expression and that everyone has an important story to share regardless of age, race or gender. We create a canvas for creatives to experiment and explore their artistic crafts without fear of judgement or discrimination. We are more than an event, we are a community of multicultural creatives who believe in the power of unity.

La filosofía
Afropoesia es crear un espacio seguro e integrador para inmigrantes, mujeres, LGBTQ+ y creativos. Creemos en el poder de la autoexpresión y en que todo el mundo tiene una historia importante que compartir, independientemente de su edad, raza o sexo. Creamos un lienzo para que los creativos experimenten y exploren sus creaciones artísticas sin miedo a ser juzgados o discriminados. Somos más que un evento, somos una comunidad de creativos multiculturales que creen en el poder de la unidad.
