​Nestled in Madragoa, one of Lisbon’s most charming and historic neighborhoods, Familjen is a cozy spot where great food, natural wine, and good vibes come together.

​At the helm is Chef Petter Nyström, a Swedish-born chef with 25+ years in the Nordic restaurant scene. From his early days in the South of Sweden to shaping Holzweiler Platz in Oslo, Petter has always pushed boundaries. After a decade of calling Lisbon his second home, opening Familjen here felt inevitable.

​"Rooted in Nordic culinary philosophy yet infused with global flavors, Familjen is a place without rules—just big, bold dishes we love to eat, shared with the people we love. Our kitchen thrives on spices, depth, and contrast, where heat meets acidity, umami meets brightness, and richness is balanced with freshness. We source peak-season produce from Portugal’s best farms and suppliers, always with a touch of Nordic influence."

​Once home to Lisbon’s fishing community, Madragoa is now a lively hub for food, wine, and culture. Familjen is a natural extension of this—a laid-back neighborhood restaurant where you can unwind, sip incredible wine, and enjoy food that packs a punch.
