About Event

Need or want to grow your business, but find it hard to commit to doing marketing? Let’s see if some accountability can help!

Our aim: to plan, refine, and execute a marketing campaign for our facilitation businesses, and report back weekly on success, struggles, and “sticky bits”. By showing up each week and being accountable to the group, we will help ourselves and each other to turn dreary marketing into a successful practice.

That's the idea, anyway...

Note: this is an experimental series of accountability sessions, so please bear in mind that if you come along, you will be a guinea pig (as will I!)

The (rough) idea - what to expect:

These are accountability sessions, not training sessions, and the plan is for you to combine individual work and ideas with group discussions and input so that we can help each other come up with good ideas, share learnings, and hopefully all have at least one successful and consistent marketing activity in place by the end of the 6 weeks.

Pre-work: I'll send you a bit of pre-work a few days before we meet for the first session so that you can think a bit about objectives, audience, and so on.

Week 1: getting to know each other, sharing your goals for the series, brainstorming possible campaign approaches, getting feedback and giving feedback to others, outlining a list of next steps.

Week 2: reporting on progress, sharing final marketing idea for the series, sharing ideas and insights, helping others and receiving help with any challenges, sharing next steps.

Week 3: reporting on progress, sharing ideas and insights, helping others and receiving help with any challenges, sharing next steps.

Week 4: reporting on progress, sharing ideas and insights, helping others and receiving help with any challenges, sharing next steps.

Week 5: reporting on progress, sharing ideas and insights, helping others and receiving help with any challenges, sharing next steps.

Week 6: reporting on progress, sharing ideas and insights, reviewing progress and evaluating success, deciding what you want to do next.

My personal goal for the series: it would be great if everyone was able to generate a new enquiry or possibly even gain a new customer as a result of this! Not everyone's goals will be the same, though, so if your aim is to get a new website written so that you can start focusing on generating new business as a future step, that would be a great start, too!

Ideas are easy. Implementation is difficult.

Your commitment:

I'm creating a space for us to sort out some marketing challenges. Here's what I'd ask of you:

Do the pre-work.
It's needed for the first session.

Show up to all sessions (or at least to 5).
I know that life gets in the way, but if you miss several sessions, it breaks the continuity of the group, makes the rest of us feel that we're not an important part of your calendar, and without the continuity and consistency on your end, means that you are probably wasting your time.

Come with an open mind.
Who knows what exciting things might happen if you do?

Be generous with your ideas and expertise and experiences.
We all have more to offer than we realise, and we need you to contribute to the collective brain that we are creating!

Be honest and kind with your contributions.
We want to hear the truth, but let's be mindful about how we offer it.

Really give it a go.
It's 6 weeks. 6 live hours, plus executing ideas in your own time. It's about growing your business, increasing your visibility, helping you to create a financially sustainable practice. If you don't do the work between meetings, then you are letting yourself down.

That's it! I hope you'll join me.
