Volunteering Untapped NYC: NYC Parks (July 2024)
Meet at 10:50AM at Prospect Park, Parkside and Ocean Avenues entrance for our park clean up!
Volunteers will be given grabbers, nets, and bags to help fish out trash from along the shoreline of the lake. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to remove invasive, unwanted wild growing plants from along the lake, as well as apply mulch to paths.
Reminders:
Remember to wear close-toed shoes and long pants that can get messy
Wearing/bringing a hat and sunscreen is encouraged
Events will take place rain (within reason) or shine. If you are unsure of an event’s happenings, please email us (email below)
Please do not bring any pets to this event
Please bring your own filled water bottle - a cooler will be available for refills
Please bring only what you are comfortable carrying with you
All hand tools will be provided
Afterwards, we'll head to the afterparty at The Rogers Garden at ~2pm!
Volunteering Untapped afterparties are an optional way to further socialize with other volunteers, we encourage everyone to come out to the afterparty after! Food and drink will be available to purchase at the bar. Link to the bar can be found here.
