The Workshop

How does it feel to be securely attached? It feels like… the joy of really being yourself.

Over the course of two hours, we’re going to guide you into a sense of secure attachment in an embodied way, which is where the fun of authenticity really starts. This workshop will present four guided meditations that turn both our bodies and minds towards the feeling of security, and the joyful sense of really being yourself that spontaneously emerges once we get there.

Our attachment styles are ultimately about the relationships we have, and have had, with people we can trust. The approach of this workshop is to use embodiment meditations to construct the experience of trust through the sense of safety, being seen, and being cared for.

Out of this embodied sense of security, we then find ourselves effortlessly able to access the desires and creativity of our most authentic selves. When we turn all this online, we see that there’s a sense of joy always present in our experience. If we know how to look for it, it’s always there.

We will alternate between guided meditations and space for questions and reflections. We’ll encourage you to approach these practices creatively, and to move around your space as you see fit.

This workshop is open to anyone and everyone who is interested. We will provide attendees with a free guided meditation they can use after the workshop to continue continue to discover the sense of joy in life.

Bios

Evan Leed is a coach authorized to teach on meditation and attachment by George Haas, founder of Mettagroup, with whom he maintains an active mentoring relationship. He also had the privilege of studying attachment under the late Dr. Daniel Brown for two years as an original member of the Ideal Parent Figure Masterclass. His work centers around helping his clients come into greater security, resolve attachment wounds and traumas, and experience a deeper sense of meaning in individual pursuits and relationships. He has maintained a daily meditation practice for over fifteen years and has spent over nine months on intensive retreat, in the Theravada and Vajrayana traditions.

Avery Bedows is an author, researcher, and multimedia artist. He is currently writing a book about creatively using embodied meditation as a tool to uncover your sense of authentic self. Avery also writes a newsletter, called AND THE SUN, about creative, artistic, and inventive approaches to meditation. Avery has had a daily meditation practice for nearly four years, as a student in the Vajrayana tradition, as well as various embodiment and inner work traditions. Avery often spends hours a day engaged in the deeply creative process of integrating practice into all aspects of life.
