Are you eager to challenge the norms and drive innovation in Vancouver’s tech scene? 💡

Join us at the VTW Mini Hackathon, co-hosted by vancouver.dev, PM Hive, and Vancouver Design Community.

Note: ​THIS IS AN IN-PERSON HACKATHON. You are NOT ALLOWED to join remotely, so if you registered thinking you could join remotely and CANNOT attend in person, please cancel so someone on our waitlist can join in person.

This one-day event is a hub of innovation and creativity, uniting a diverse group of professionals - designers, developers, and product managers. Each participant will engage in activities specifically designed for their expertise, fostering innovative collaboration and problem-solving.

What You'll Do:

  • For Designers: Create mockups, perform user research, and conduct problem exploration with product managers.

  • For PMs: Perform problem exploration, draft the Product Requirements Document (PRD), and pitch your ideas.

  • For Developers: Break epics into stories, write technical analyses, and/or build a small prototype.

Our Goal

The goal of the VTW Mini Hackathon is to ignite collaboration and innovation among tech enthusiasts. Participants will build and refine their ideas into viable prototypes by the end of the day, guided by industry experts.

Vancouver's tech ecosystem struggles to establish itself as a premier global tech hub. Our community events are often siloed, and knowledge-sharing remains fragmented across different disciplines. This hackathon aims to bridge these gaps, fostering a more unified tech community.

  • 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Arrival & Team & forming

  • 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Opening Ceremony

  • 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM: Build Session (🍕 Lunch and dinner will be provided)

  • 7:30 PM - 8:15 PM: Presentations

  • 8:15 PM - 8:45 PM: Judging & Awards

  • 8:45 - 9:00 PM: Clean-up
