Uber Design Night NYC
Join Uber Design at our NYC office for a night of creative inspiration. Through lightning talks and a panel discussion, we’ll be unpacking the theme "Shaping Movement: Design Beyond the Screen." Hear from Uber designers and researchers, as well as special external guests on how designers use digital tools to solve physical human problems.
We'll cover lots of ground: the power of user research, design challenges in transportation projects, AI, the magic of prototyping, and designing for marketplaces.

Our Speakers and Panelists:
Vanya Mittal
Vanya leads UX Research for Uber Eats’s Groceries, Convenience, Alcohol & Retail delivery teams, driving innovation through strategic research and deep user insight. She bridges business and product strategy with user needs to accelerate growth and customer delight, and has helped launch innovative products at hyper-growth companies through new concept development and behavioral research.
Julian Jordan
Julian's experience spans multiple industries and countries. From private equity strategy/investing, to 0-1 start-up experience design, to personalization research at Spotify, he has always looked to understand human behavior. At Uber Eats he is a Researcher focusing on the end-to-end consumer experience, personalization efforts, and experience metrics.
Laura Sandoval
Equal parts product designer and engineer, Lau headed up Consumer Product Design at Cornershop before it was acquired by Uber. Now at Uber, Lau leads design for Offers & Affordability. Fun fact: Lau just moved to NYC from Santiago, Chile!
Hannah Birch
Hannah is a senior content designer on Uber Eats, focusing on the end-to-end consumer experience. She specializes in systems thinking and explaining complex things in simple words. Before Uber, she worked at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in NYC and in investigative journalism.
Maxim Leyzerovich
Maxim is a designer, education and consultant with 15+ years of experience building products and teams focused on digital innovation across a variety of industries. He currently leads design and innovation at Amtrak, and runs his own Design Consultancy, Round. We can’t wait to hear his lightning talk at the Design Night.
Benn Lam
Previously at Sweetgreen, and before that, at Away, Benn is a designer, visual artist, and tech enthusiast who is currently running his own product design studio. He excels in building thoughtful digital experiences and scalable systems for fast growing companies.
