About the Event | Ritual as Portal: Altar & Word
with Georgia Wall
Join artist, ceremonialist, and mother Georgia Wall for a poetic, participatory session exploring the transformative power of ritual in our creative and personal journeys.
Through conversation, poetry, and simple altar-making, we’ll reconnect with our inner wisdom and craft a meaningful intention to carry forward in our brand and stories. Together, we’ll craft a meaningful altar — a felt, symbolic anchor for your current season of becoming.
No previous experience with ceremony-making required. Just bring your presence, a candle or meaningful object, and something to write with.
Why Ritual: The Power of Meaning-Making Through Gestures, Objects, and Symbols
Ritual is more than tradition: it’s a form of deep listening.
It is of the oldest technologies of transformation. It speaks the language of our nervous systems, our muscles, our metaphors. Through rhythm and symbol, ritual restores coherence between body, brain, and story.
At its core, ritual is how we make meaning when words fall short. It helps us metabolize change, reconnect with what matters, and anchor our stories into tangible form. It integrates body and mind, regulates the nervous system, and restores a sense of coherence — especially in times of transition.
Below are just a few of the ways ritual works not only spiritually, but physiologically, poetically, and neurologically:
🔸 Ritual grounds intention into form.
Simple gestures activate the body’s motor and sensory systems, turning thought into movement. This is embodied cognition — when the body helps us feel what we already know.
🔸 Ritual calms the nervous system.
Repetition and rhythm activate the parasympathetic system, reducing stress and creating a sense of safety and presence.
🔸 Ritual anchors emotion through objects.
A candle, a stone, a word — when chosen with meaning, they become emotional anchors, linking inner states with outer symbols.
🔸 Ritual helps us make sense of change.
Like a story, a ritual has a beginning, a threshold, and a return. It gives structure to transitions and helps us find coherence in times of uncertainty.
🔸 Ritual brings us into wholeness.
Gestures like anjali mudra engage both sides of the brain, integrating thought and feeling, and restoring inner alignment.
Rooted in neuroscience and grounded in poetic experience, this space weaves somatic wisdom with creative reflection.
You’ll leave with a simple altar, an embodied intention, and a deeper trust in the poetic logic of your path.
This is for you if:
You’re navigating a creative, personal, or professional threshold and want to mark it with intention.
You’re curious about how ritual and symbolism can support clarity, identity integration, and storytelling.
You long to connect with your inner voice and create from a place of presence.

About the Guest: Georgia Wall (Artist, Ceremonialist, Mother)
Georgia is a Ceremonialist based in New York City.
Georgia seeks to uncover the specific inner ceremony that an individual or a group carries within them— the ceremony that is necessary and arising for the given moment, born from lived experience. Her ceremonies are co-created with the people she works with and are born out of an emergent process of deep conversation, listening, reflecting and imagining.
Georgia also guides people through a deep and personal experience as a Ceremonial Companion, supporting individuals in coming to understand their life through a more mythic and poetic lense. Learn more about it here.
Georgia holds a BA from Oberlin College and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is also a certified yoga instructor (Sivananda Yoga Vedanta) and mindfulness teacher (A Still Quiet Place).
