Free and Open Source Singapore Joint Meetup with FOSSASIA
Welcome to the Free and Open Source Singapore Joint Meetup, in collaboration with the FOSSASIA team!
Our meetup brings together developers, enthusiasts, and organizations passionate about open-source technologies. Whether you're an experienced developer or just starting your journey, we invite you to join us to share your knowledge, ideas, and experiences.
In this meetup, we're excited to welcome Hong Phuc, the founder of FOSSASIA, who will give us an overview of the upcoming FOSSASIA Summit 2025, taking place from March 13-15 in Bangkok. Afterward, we'll hear from Patched, a promising local startup backed by Y Combinator, who will discuss AI-powered coding agents. Finally, Jianming will introduce his open-source project, AO.Space, which focuses on safeguarding personal data security and privacy. Jianming will also give us a live demo of the AO.Space server hardware.
After the presentations, we’ll open the floor for a lively discussion where you can ask questions, share your thoughts, and connect with fellow attendees. This will be followed by a networking session, offering a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and build connections within the open-source community.
We welcome everyone, regardless of background or affiliation, to become part of our community. If you're interested in contributing, we are actively seeking more volunteers - don’t hesitate to reach out!

1930 - 2000hrs How to build an open-source AI coding agent
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Asankhaya Sharma is Co-Founder and CTO of Patched.codes, a startup building coding agents for software automation. A technology expert with nearly 20 years of experience, he previously held leadership roles at Veracode and SourceClear.
Synopsis:
WE-bench is the universally accepted benchmark for evaluation coding agents based on their ability to resolve complex coding tickets. In this talk, learn how the founders of Patched ranked 7th on the benchmark for open-source agents while also exploring the different approaches taken by other open-source leaders.
2000 - 2030hrs Introducing AO.Space - an open-source solution that focuses on protecting personal data security and privacy
Speaker Bio:
Wang Jianmin is a experienced software engineer who specializes in areas such as Java VM, Web Runtime, Virtualization, Embedded Systems, and data security. He is a member of technical committee in openEuler community, and is also responsible for maintaining the RaspberryPi, CloudNative, and Compat-winapp SIGs. In addition, he has been a strong advocate for promoting the establishment of the Summer-OSPP event to encourage more students to participate in open-source projects.
Synopsis:
As AI becomes an integral part of our daily lives, concerns over data privacy and centralized control are more pressing than ever. This talk explores the role of on-premise AI servers in mitigating these risks, discussing self-hosted large language models (LLMs), private AI knowledge bases, and the challenges of maintaining AI autonomy at home. We will also introduce the AO.space Server hardware, demonstrating real-world deployment of personal AI services using open-source frameworks.
