In this interactive session, you'll hear from 4 professionals with roles just like yours who have either made the move to join a new company or are working hard within their current organisation to effect change.
We'll cover:
The day to day - what does 'taking climate action at work' actually look like for them? What does their company actually do?
Tips and tricks for finding peers, and a new role, working on climate.
Opportunities to make a difference that are unique to software engineers and data analysts / engineers.
Their path, and what they've learnt along the way.

Meet your speakers:
Henry Armburg Jennings - VP of Engineering at Sightline Climate
Henry is a polyglot fullstack software engineer with significant recent leadership experience. He's worked with companies of all sizes as a software developer. Most recently he was VP of Eng/CTO at BeZero Carbon - he created their technology function and scaled it from 0 at the seed-funding stage, to a product engineering team of ~20 well beyond Series B. He now provides advisory/interim/fractional services to early-stage companies. He is currently VP of Engineering at Sightline Climate.
Amber Rignell - Product Engineer at Kestrix
Amber Rignell is a Product Engineer at Kestrix, where she develops technology to map heat loss in homes, optimizing residential retrofit prioritisation and verification. Her previous experience is in developing data integration tooling, first for the startup world as a software engineer for Tray.io, then for the government and NGO space as product manager at OpenFn. She’s passionate about using tech for social good, particularly when it comes to leveraging data to unlock better decision-making, and process automation to drive efficiency.
Dr Mikey Harper - Data & Insights Lead at Heat Geek
Dr. Mikey Harper is the Data & Insights Lead at Heat Geek, where he’s passionate about addressing the climate crisis through data. With a PhD in geospatial modelling of renewable energy technologies and experience at companies including Ovo Energy, he’s on a mission to combine data and action for real change, an objective that ultimately took him to the start up life! At Heat Geek, Mikey is happiest hands-on coding and being involved in data projects across the whole lifecycle.
Adam Hynes - Senior Software Engineer at Sympower
Adam is a software engineer approaching 20 years in the industry. After becoming a father, he switched his career focus to only working in roles impacting the climate crisis. In 2020, he co-founded Offsetter.io, helping individuals to lower and offset their carbon footprint. He currently works for Sympower, helping to balance the electricity grid as more renewables are added.
This will be an interactive session, with 30 minutes of panel discussion and 20 minutes of breakout room Q&A with each of the speakers. Please think of questions in advance!
Every job is a climate job, whether you work for a climate startup / organisation or not. This session is for both job seekers and those taking action via their current role.
