Startup Basketball Run - July 23 @ 9:15am
Hey Startup Ballers,
We're hosting a special session of Australia Startup Basketball in Melbourne with our friends at M8 Ventures and in conjunction with The World's Greatest Shave for the Lukemia Foundation!
What does this mean?
Courts are sponsored by M8 Ventures and both Alan Jones and Emily Rich will be onsite balling and connecting with founders.
All of your rego fees (after luma/stripe/minor admin) will go to the Lukemia Foundation! First but not last time we'll do a run in conjunction with a charity!
Alan Jones will be shaving his head at the half time break!

10:45 - 11am: Mixed Play and/or networking. Feel free to shower and then grab a coffee onsite later to keep talking!
We're trying something different this go based on previous feedback and are asking players to rate themselves based on a factor of skill/networking/competitiveness as we may split the teams up between those:
1 - I know the rules but just here to have fun and network.
2 - I am a good players but can "turn the competitiveness on and off" based on who I am playing and want a mix of good play and networking.
3 - If possible, I want to play at a competitive level for the games but also here to network (no whinging about light fouls).
Based on the quantity and mix of players, we'll may divide the courts accordingly and/or have winners of each match move up to next court. If we get all 1s and 2s for ratings, we'll just mix the teams up and rotate.
Sounds complicated but courts, games, rotations will be explained ahead of time and posted on site. Team assignments would be out ahead of the day so you can connect and coordinate matching outfits. :)
Caveat: you do need to know the rules of basketball so nobody gets hurt.
We’ll also collect and later share LinkedIn profiles to increase connectivity.
See you on the court! ASB Team
PS - due to overwhelming demand, we may reserve the right to limit registrations to 1 person per company without formal sponsorship so we can increase the total number of networking connections between organisations. Thx for understanding!
