ASPA's Section on Democracy and Social Justice (DSJ) launched “Teach-Ins” to help all public servants and those interested in democracy, social justice, and social equity at all levels of their careers, studies, and areas and arenas of practice. Development of this initiative was led by Rachael Emas (George Washington University) & José Luis Irizarry (University of Illinois Springfield) and is co-sponsored by ASPA’s Section on Public Administration Education (SPAE). ASPA/DSJ/SPAE membership is NOT required to attend Teach-Ins. Join DSJ’s mailing list to be notified of upcoming events: http://eepurl.com/hWr6qP

RECORDING AVAILABLE for DSJ's 1st Teach-In: Equity Versus Equality (September 29, 2022)

The recording of our first Teach-In is now available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/RPcfAVlPF0c. We are so thankful to our featured speaker, Brandi Blessett, Ph.D. (University of Minnesota) and our moderator, Vanessa Lopez-Littleton, Ph.D. (California State University, Monterey Bay).

All DSJ events are intentionally Inclusive of diverse and intersectional perspectives, voices, and participants. Help us raise the collective consciousness by bringing in, welcoming, and engaging as many voices that are typically underrepresented and absent from these important conversations at all stages of their career development (students, practitioners, administrators, and academics).
