About Event

Navigating sports as a female can present unique challenges but also incredible opportunities for growth, connection and empowerment.

This fireside chat will include recommendations and strategies for supporting the development of females who participate in sport.

Objectives:

1. Learn three strategies to empower female athletes to perform at their best. 

2. Identify unique characteristics that female athletes experience and ways to create a training program that supports their success.

About Abigail

Abigail Eiler, LMSW, MSW, QMHP, IMGCA-II, is a licensed clinical social worker and educator with nearly 20 years of experience.

She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Michigan and has served as Chief Diversity Officer and Director of Athletic Counseling for Michigan Athletics.

As a former nationally ranked multi-sport athlete, Professor Eiler combines her personal experience with specialized clinical training to offer culturally-responsive mental health and performance services. As a former player, she is especially attuned to enhancing the mental health and performance of female student-athletes.
