Linking Web3 login with encrypted chat

​Can we use Ethereum / WalletConnect and similar blockchain IDs to login, and then link that to encryption keys for encrypted chat messages and other content?

​How can we smoothly enable QR code based logins while being non-custodial & decentralized?

​Is just linking identifiers good enough? eg Sign in with Ethereum -> a Matrix native account?
