Painted Narratives: Mural Celebration

​Join us on September 28th as we unveil our new community mural! Celebrating a new unique community mural by local Muslim artist Rahmaan Hameed, representing and commemorating Dr. Lila Falhman and the Muslim community within Treaty 6. This mural is one of four inter-connected murals between Islamic Family, Mennonite Central Committee, Africa Center, and Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society. The project brings together artists, equity-deserving communities, and emerging artists to commemorate reconciliation through participatory art-making based on the principles of wahkohtowin (Cree: kinship) & mawadaa [الْمَوَدَّة] (Arabic: communal affection).
