About Event

Are you curious how to empower community members in the process of housing development? Join us for an engaging 60-minute interactive session that makes place-based housing development approachable and accessible. This event will demo an innovative game called the Mix & Match Toolkit and bring community-centered decision-making to life.

Mix & Match is more than just a game. It’s a hands-on planning tool that introduces players to financial, governance, legal, architectural, and logistical strategies behind any housing project; and then invites them to customize and combine these strategies to best serve their own community’s needs. Whether you’re a community member, government official, industry leader, or simply interested in the topic, this session offers an engaging way to explore how to democratize the creation of community-supportive housing.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this session, the designers of Mix & Match—Ben Hoffman (Junior Designer, LMNOP Designs, Inc.) and Janette Kim (Principal, All of the Above) will guide you through a demo of the game. They will show how the game can be used to explore housing solutions and invite audience members to actively engage with the game in real time.

For the best experience, we highly recommend joining the session on a device with video capabilities, as this will allow you to fully participate in the interactive elements of the session.
