​We stand against the growing privatization of public space, increasingly controlled by commercial operators or the City under vague “calls for projects.”

​Our Demands Today:

• ​True transparency around the rules governing public space use — which remain vague or non-existent.

• ​An end to centralized decision-making in the hands of actors with conflicts of interest, who prioritize personal networks and agendas over fair, open management.

• ​Official recognition of Piknik Elektronik as a legitimate stakeholder in defining public space allocation criteria. We demand active involvement in this process, alongside other independent actors and the City of Brussels — starting now.

• ​Equitable distribution of public space between:
  → 50% for independent nonprofits
  → 25% for commercial operators
  → 25% for City-led or politically driven initiatives

• ​Recognition of Piknik Elektronik’s pioneering role in Brussels’ open-air culture, backed by sustainable support that reflects our 18-year commitment, independence, and proven track record.
