About Vance Jackson
Vance K. Jackson, Jr., MSW, serves as CEO of NEXX Consulting Group, a multifaceted consulting firm renowned for delivering bespoke solutions tailored to the needs of government, nonprofit, small business and corporate firms—offering a comprehensive suite of services that includes grant-writing, board development, strategic planning, program design, evaluation and fund development.
With over 17 years of experience across Business, Government, Community, and Philanthropy, Vance most recently served in the Mayor’s Office of the City of Detroit as the City’s Social Impact Fund Development Officer. In this pivotal role, he was an integral part of a 5-member Fund Development team that successfully raised more than $1 Billion in investment from public, private, philanthropic, and corporate sources.
Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office in 2018, Vance served more than a decade at J.P. Morgan, where his financial career spanned across the breadth of the global bank. He served in J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Bank—Middle Market Treasury, where he specialized in constructing Global Treasury solutions for Multi-National Middle Market Corporations with annual revenues ranging from $100 Million - $2 Billion.
Additionally, Vance serves as lecturer at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, School of Social Work, where he teaches Master-Level Graduate (MSW) courses on grant-writing, fund development, social enterprise & entrepreneurship, community organizing, and community development. He was most recently appointed to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor Senate, The Financial Affairs Advisory Committee (FAAC) where he advises and consults with the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer concerning topics of interest related to University finance and $2.7 Billion Budget infrastructure.
