In this hands-on 1.5 hour workshop, participants will learn and apply how to repair holes in sweaters through woven darning. We will start the class practicing both visible and invisible techniques on a sampler, but participants are encouraged to bring their own sweaters needing repair and we will apply the techniques to fix them during the class. Various yarn colors and embroidery threads will be available to use for darning during the class, but if you’re hoping to achieve an invisible mend, it’s suggested you find a matching yarn color to your sweater ahead of time to bring to class with you. Needles and embroidery hoops will be provided to use during class.
*as sweater holes are sometimes caused by moths, please ensure your garment is freshly laundered, freshly dry cleaned, or tumbled dry on high heat in the dryer for 30 minutes before bringing them to class.
