​Honoring Shu Lea Cheang, Anil Dash, Lauren Lee McCarthy, and Jennifer & Kevin McCoy, the event celebrates figures who have built community and infrastructure for artists and creators, and have explored new ways of being in the world through technology.

​rhizome forever also marks the ten-year anniversary of the collaboration between McCoy and Dash at Rhizome’s 7x7 conference that led to the “first NFT.” Following this cue, the dinner takes up the goal that inspired that epoch-defining moment: supporting artists and building value around digital art. The benefit will raise funds for Artbase Anthologies, a program which aims to share transformative histories of digital art that spark cultural change, as well as Rhizome’s microgrants, a radically inclusive program for the support of experimental artist practices.
