Movie Night: Brain Scan
This week, we will be showing one of my favorite movies, Brain Scan. It is a psychological horror film about a teenager who plays the latest video game experience, only to find out his hyper-realistic simulation is a bit more than he bargained for.
Starring a young Edward Furlong, the film was a critical flop, but the themes explored are still relevant today. Dealing with topics such as media's influence on behavior, isolation, abject art forms, and the definition of reality, the film confronts some valuable questions that still exist in our present gamified world, albeit through a supernatural lens.
