*About Liz the Wordsmith
As a kid, I was obsessed with mystery novels — all the twists and turns were so exciting to me. So much so that I wanted to be a spy or detective when I grew up. While I never became a real sleuth, being in client-facing roles made me feel like one.
Two years ago, I left the tech startup world and merged my love for investigative work and writing to become a freelance content writer for B2B companies like Zapier, Front, and PartnerStack. While I’m mainly a ghostwriter, my bylines have appeared in Fast Company, dot.LA, and the Journal of AI & Workplace Automation. Here’s a link to my portfolio if you want to sneak a peek!
Last year, I decided to take my personal writing more seriously, enrolling in a few workshops with independent creative writers and taking classes at UCLA. And guess what? It prompted me to start my first novel! Not giving anything away because it’s a thriller ;)
When I’m not hunched over my laptop, I’m hiking all over SoCal, admiring the latest and greatest figure skating talent on TV (I was a former US Junior National-level competitor), or consuming way too many true crime podcasts.
About The Casual Creative
When was the last time you did something creative just for the heck of it? As kids, we played and created things with our hands all the time. That’s how we explored new objects and mediums to figure out how they work, what they mean to the world, and what they mean to us. As adults, we don’t easily get enough opportunities to play and explore without the pressure to be ‘good’ or ‘productive.’ The Casual Creative is on a mission to create safe and cozy spaces with the right vibes, so you feel inspired to play.
