Tech for Good hangout

​Humanity is so dependent on technology that it seems like the only way out is through. Most of us in tech are very privileged to be able to choose what we work on. And many choose to work on things that will clearly have positive impact on the world. For me, this is a huge factor influencing my decision making. And I wish to meet more people who think similarly. Therefore, I am organizing this event.

Some examples of "tech for good" could be tech to address critical issues like climate change, healthcare disparities, and global access to education. But I would open it to anything really, not only things that are seen as traditional areas of impact investing. Some non-traditional examples that come to mind are LLMs for science, sound therapy for mental health, brain tissue replacement therapy to treat Alzheimer's, and even military drones supporting warfare against authoritarian regimes. If you care about doing what is needed and important (and not only what is profitable), welcome.

Location: Lower Haight, visible upon acceptance.

Logistics: Chill hangout without an agenda, getting to know interesting people. We have a great living room. I will provide tea, otherwise please bring your own beverages and snacks.
