About Event

Slant'd and Kato Sake Works are teaming up on a month-long exhibition featuring 11 NY-based Asian American artists who have contributed to Slant'd magazines. On Sunday, May 25, some our participating artists and Slant'd will be tabling to share more of their work. Artists include Yayun Chang, Mark Wang, Vanessa Nguyễn, Rose Wong, Caitlyn Gaurano, Liliana Rasmussen, and Jason Lam. Come on by, meet the artists and Slant'd team members, browse their works, and buy some art! Sake from Kato Sake Works and onigiri from Onigiri Noah will be available for sale. The event is free, but tickets are a suggested donation that goes directly to Slant'd.

Slant’d is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit reimagining publishing to be more accessible, equitable, and joyful for AAPIs everywhere. They are a creative home for AAPI voices, offering litmag and book publishing opportunities, as well as creative care programs and storytelling events. A fully volunteer-run team, they commit every cent donated towards fueling the publication of diverse voices, ensuring their sustainability, and growing their creative care programs. For more info on where you donation goes, read more here.

Kato Sake Works is a sake brewery in Bushwick, NY. Born in Tokyo, made in Brooklyn, KSW makes sake "for you to have fun". At the taproom you can find live music, food pop-ups, art, and more.
