MBA Angel Investor Info Session & Meetup
Are you doing your MBA or have you recently completed your program? Join Hustle Fund's Angel Squad and LongJump Ventures for a happy hour where we'll discuss how MBAs can get involved in angel investing and how it can lead to a career in venture.
Experienced investors and operators, Rebecca Sholiton Kahnweiler (Kellogg MBA, LongJump Managing Partner, angel investor), Jorge Ortiz (Wisconsin MBA, Hustle Fund Angel Squad Chicago lead), and Brylan Donaldson (founder, Serac Ventures Scout, Associate Director at The Garage at Northwestern) will discuss how MBAs and recent alumni can write their first few checks and what involvement in venture can look like from an angel, part-time, or full-time perspective.
As an MBA, you're diving deep into strategy, finance, and operations... building that amazing toolkit. But have you ever paused and wondered how people actually get involved in funding the next big thing? Investing is not just reserved for Silicon Valley veterans or people with decades of experience and giant bank accounts. Angel investing is a way for smart, driven people, like MBAs to help support founders they believe in and ideas that want to see in the world while building a powerful network and investing track record.
We'll look at how first checks can be as small as $1,000 (seriously!), how things like syndicates (think: team investing, like the Angel Squad we'll discuss) make it possible, and whether it makes sense to start during your program or after graduation.
This isn't just a talk-at-you situation. A huge chunk of this is dedicated to AMA - Ask Me Anything. Bring those questions you've been Googling late at night. What is diligence, really? How do you even find startups? No question is too basic.
