​Artverse Gallery is proud to present Emi Kusano’s latest exhibition, featuring her new series, Office Ladies. Kusano, a multidisciplinary artist born in Tokyo in 1990, has gained international recognition for her AI-driven explorations of human nature across time.

​From early street photography in Harajuku—leading to an exhibition at the V&A Museum—to groundbreaking collaborations with Gucci, Christie’s, and UNHCR, her work seamlessly blends hyperrealism, AI, and collective memory. Her pieces have been showcased at prestigious venues such as Saatchi Gallery and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and are part of private collections in over a dozen countries.

​In Office Ladies, Kusano delves into the AI-driven transformation of work and gender roles in Japan. The series features multiple AI-generated doubles of the artist, tirelessly processing vast streams of information with an emotionless precision—re-enacting the archetype of the Japanese “Office Lady” (OL).

​Historically, OLs were expected to bring charm and warmth to the workplace, only to leave upon marriage or childbirth. While AI has the potential to reinforce such outdated societal norms, it also presents a possibility for change. Kusano’s work invites viewers to question whether an AI-dominated future will merely replicate the past or redefine our social order.

​Beyond her visual art, Kusano is also the lead singer of Satellite Young, a band known for its futuristic reinterpretation of 80s J-POP, which has been featured at SXSW and integrated into immersive installations.
