Join us at the Tallahassee Chan Center for a special event featuring the Dharma Relief 2 (DR2) project, initiated by GuoGu. This unique initiative honors the role of Black Dharma teachers/leaders in providing healing and support to African-descendant communities through Buddhist teachings. DR2 aims to create bridges of understanding and healing for racial trauma. For this event, the esteemed Buddhist advisors of DR2 are visiting from out of town, dedicating their time exclusively to our Tallahassee sangha. This is a rare opportunity to engage with and learn from these distinguished leaers, with the session available both in-person and online.

“Healing Racial Trauma Through Buddhist Communities” is an initiative recognizing Black Dharma teachers/leaders as powerfully positioned to offer healing and support through a Buddhist lens for African-descendant communities in the United States. These teachers/leaders impact the intergenerational, historical, and continuing present-day trauma on African-descended people. DR2, through the generous dāna (donations) of many, is funding five individual Black Dharma Teacher/Leader Fellowships to provide the community and material resources they need to carry on their profound work. Fellows receive a monthly dāna offer of $1,000.00 USD to use as they see fit to best support their livelihood and well-being. The fellowships began in October of 2023 and will continue for one year.
