About Event

Curious about how your money can be used to fight climate change more effectively?

This New York Climate Week, join Giving Green and Carbon Collective Investing for an afternoon of candid conversations and light refreshments. We’ll explore how philanthropy and investing can work hand in hand to accelerate climate solutions, and how you can make more informed decisions to drive the greatest impact per dollar invested or donated.

While the climate challenge grows more urgent, the opportunities for donors and investors to shape real outcomes have never been clearer. This event brings together leaders in climate philanthropy and sustainable finance to share practical strategies for aligning both your giving and your investments with a decarbonized future.

Conversation 1 – How to Maximize the Impact of Your Climate Giving

Giving Green’s Founder and Executive Director, Dan Stein, will sit down with Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, to discuss how donors can make maximize the impact of their climate dollars, particularly though high-impact climate funds, such at the Giving Green Fund or the Climate Change Fund, Charity Navigator’s new Causeway service created in collaboration with Giving Green.

You’ll gain insights into:

  • Giving Green and Charity Navigator’s approaches to effective climate giving

  • How climate funds work in practice

  • Actionable steps to align your giving with high-impact climate solutions

  • The role of philanthropy in reaching climate goals and reducing warming

Conversation 2 – How to Climate Align Investments with Climate Goals

In this discussion, Zach Stein, Chief Investment Officer of Carbon Collective Investing, and Kathleen Simpson, CEO of the Russell Family Foundation, will discuss how well-informed investments can make a significant climate impact.

You’ll gain insights into:

  • Their backgrounds and how they think about climate investing

  • The Russell Family Foundation's published report on its impact portfolio

  • How they see the future landscape of climate investing
