About Event

Elpha and Volley are partnering to host an evening of conversations with women at startups! This will be an in-person panel in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. We will cover topics such as what it's like to be an employee at a startup, work/life balance, benefits, starting a family / parenting, pros and cons of working at a startup vs tech company, and more!

Schedule: 

  • 6-6:30pm - Drinks, food, and mingling 

  • 6:30-7:30pm - Panel (led by Cadran

  • 7:30 - 8:00pm - Breakout Sessions (led by Kristina)

  • 8:00-9:00pm - Networking

🙌 Vrinda Gupta

Vrinda is CEO & Co-Founder of Sequin, a women-focused Visa debit card and financial education platform with rewards that pay back the Pink Tax in categories where women spend. She is a globally recognized credit expert (Forbes, Bustle, “Top 100 Women in Fintech” by Fintech Mag) with experience at Visa Inc. and an MBA from Berkeley Haas. Vrinda lives in San Francisco, California and is a proud first-generation Indian immigrant.

🙌 Rachel Deleon

Rachel is a proud mom and the Chief of Staff at Volley, the leading developer of voice-controlled games for devices like Amazon Alexa and Google Home. A self-professed “Jill-of-all-trades,” Rachel has spent the last 10 years launching and scaling beloved brands in the tech and CPG spaces. She also serves as board member & Treasurer for Her Idea, a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to mentoring the next generation of female leaders.

🙌 Uma Chingunde

Uma is the Vice President of Engineering at Render, helping build an innovative public cloud alternative for developers. She has more than 15 years of experience building and managing teams focused on cloud computing technologies. Most recently, she built and led Stripe’s Compute group that supported the internal compute platform so that all of Stripe engineering could deploy and operate their services with security, reliability, and scale during the company’s growth phase. Prior to Stripe, Uma was an engineering leader at Delphix and also at VMware.

🙌 Eloise Dietz

Eloise is an engineer at Vanta, the leading automated security and compliance platform. Her team focuses on employee security and builds products to help companies develop more mature security practices as they grow. She grew up in New Hampshire with her four sisters and got her B.E. in engineering and computer science from Dartmouth College. Before Vanta, she led the privacy engineering team at LiveRamp.

🙌 Cat Perez

Cat is the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at HealthSherpa, a tech company and team of people dedicated to helping individuals find quality, affordable health coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Since joining the team, Cat has led the company to over 10 million people enrolled, making HealthSherpa the #1 private enrollment platform behind HealthCare.gov. In 2013, Cat was awarded first place and received the $1 million prize in the Salesforce Hackathon in recognition of her simplified and user-friendly version of HealthCare.gov for iOS. As a queer Korican (Korean / Puerto Rican),  Cat draws from her lived experience to advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion initiatives internally with the team at HealthSherpa as well as within the product.

🙌 Anna Wang

Anna is the cofounder and CTO of Searchlight, a Series A company backed by Accel and Founders Fund. Since launching from Y Combinator in 2019, Searchlight has helped companies like Coinbase and Udemy solve attrition through better candidate selection and onboarding. Searchlight's proprietary AI and behavioral science measures quality of hire to identify an organization's unique predictors of success, with a focus on understanding cultural values, work motivations, and power skills. Previously, Anna was at Uber for software engineering, Google for product management, and McKinsey for management consulting. Fun fact: her co-founder Kerry is her twin sister!
