JANUARY SPEAKERS AND TALK DETAILS: "The GaN Show!"

On January 24th, join us at the Power Electronics Community Meetup to hear three experts discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Gallium Nitride (GaN) and compare it to other alternatives such as silicon.

JOHN DEFIORE, Analog Field Applications Power Specialist at Texas Instruments, has spent the last 40 years working in industry on analog and power electronics. DeFiore has worked on on motor controls, disk drives, robotics, and power conversion before entering the semiconductor industry at Onsemi and then Texas Instruments. In his role at TI, DeFiore helps customers apply TI power products, and helps define future products that will meet customers' needs.

JOHN JOVALUSKY, Field Applications Engineer at Arrow, has been focused on power electronics design since the 1990s and has worked for Lambda Electronics, Delta Electronics and Emerson Network Power. Since 2002 John has worked for Power Integrations, Transphorm (a GaN start-up) and STMicroelectronics. At Arrow, John presently is focused specifically on high-voltage, high power applications that use Silicon Carbide and Gallium Nitride power semiconductor devices.

CHEMA MOLINA, Founder and CEO at Frenetic.ai, leverages a PhD in Power Electronics and a passion for developing innovative solutions for the power electronics market. He's published multiple papers in prestigious journals and conferences, received an award for one of the best tech startup ideas, and collaborated with leading institutions and organizations. Molina's and Frenetic's sharedgoal is to make Magnetics more accessible, reliable, and sustainable.

On Wednesday, January 24th the Power Electronics Community Meetup returns to Sunnyvale for "The GaN Show," a series of talks about the pros and cons of working with GaN versus others. Join us for great discussion, hot food, and cold drinks. You'll meet a community of Power Electronics experts like you, share ideas, contacts, and a good meal. 30+ engineers joined us at our inaugural event in November and rated it a 4.8/5! Let's see if we can't beat both metrics this Jan 24th, and each event thereafter!

The Power Electronics Community Meetup is the place for:

  1. Spirited discussion and debate about power electronics with experts and peers in the field and academia

  2. Networking and community building in real-life, not behind a screen

  3. Great food and drink.

Have a look at 60 seconds from our launch event to get a sense of what you'll experience at our meetups!
