The Anxious Generation - Curious Cardinals Book Club, Moderated by Founder/CEO Audrey Wisch

​Hi Curious Cardinals parents,

​As someone born in 2000, I am part of the generation that has been deeply affected by the internet's influence. At a recent Curious Cardinals dinner, when asked, "What keeps you up at night?" most parents expressed concern about their children's social media usage.

​Last year I read Jonathan Haidt's book, "The Coddling of the American Mind," and found it incredibly thought-provoking and perspective-broadening. One of my favorite quotes from the book was, "Prepare the child for the road, not the road for the child." So, I was very excited and intrigued to see he published a new book, one even more closely tied to my life's work.

​I am excited to invite you to join me in reading Haidt's latest book, "The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness." This book promises to provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by today's youth and the role that technology plays in their mental well-being.

​I would love to create a space for parents in this community to reflect on the book's content, share takeaways, and engage in meaningful discussions.
