Odd Encounters — a live, generative performance
Hosted by Faisal Anwar
About Event
Please join me on Thursday, July 3, for Odd Encounters — a live, generative performance that is not a video, film, cinema, nor follows a conventional storyline.
This work draws on fleeting, awkward interactions—like the quiet tension in an elevator with strangers—where we don’t know where to look or how to act. These micro-moments of uncertainty become the raw material for the piece.
Through real-time improvisation, this performance seeks the sweet spot between sound and moving image, using generative tools, live data, and spontaneous gestures. Odd Encounters navigates cultural misalignment, the fear of the unknown, and the invisible codes we move through daily with gestures that glitch and loop and meaning that flickers in and out.
