The Tea Party
Sip & Shift: For Black women redefining love, legacy, and lifestyle.
We sip with purpose. We shift with power.
There’s deep magic in slowing down, pouring a cup of tea, and gathering in the company of other Black women. It’s a tradition rooted in Afro-diasporic wisdom where storytelling, ritual, and healing live in every sip.
Join us at Sisters Uptown Bookstore in Harlem for Sip & Shift, an evening of intentional conversation, soulful connection, and collective restoration. This in-person gathering, hosted by the Haitian Creole Language Institute of New York in collaboration with Journey to Partnership, is specifically designed for Black women who are ready to embrace love, redefine their legacy, and reconnect with themselves and one another.
We’ll share traditional herbal teas drawn from across the diaspora—each one carrying ancestral knowledge, healing properties, and cultural significance. While the tea flows, coach and facilitator Jennifer Gornik will guide us through vulnerable and affirming conversations about emotional intimacy, boundaries, partnership, and the lives we want to create.
Expect warm bites inspired by Haitian and Afro-Diasporic traditions, cozy surroundings, and the kind of laughter and tenderness that fills you up. Every guest will leave with a curated gift bag to continue your journey at home.
Set inside Sisters Uptown Bookstore, a space that celebrates Afro-Diasporic experience, this evening is your invitation to pause, pour into yourself, and shift into alignment with your purpose, your people, and your power.
Come as you are. Leave more grounded.
