Mend by Darning
Get ready to mend and repair with us and Abby Seethoff! In this workshop, we’ll learn how to restore and refresh items we already own using darning techniques. No sewing experience required.
A few of the techniques we’ll cover:
Repairing and reinforcing fabric by hand with blanket stitch.
Visible darning techniques like tambour and honeycomb that are beginner friendly (and decorative!)
Practicing techniques on socks to get the hang of each stitch
In the second part of the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to apply the techniques you've learned to your own garment(s) in a collaborative co-creation session. ✨👕
Folks are encouraged to bring an item or two in need of repair. Rips and holes welcome (duh), but please make sure that any personal items you bring are laundered prior to class.
Note: we ask that you please refrain from bringing any leather, suede, or super fragile antique items to mend—anything else is fair game!
MASK REMINDER
The Collaboratory is a *Masks Required* space. 😷 We also run two air filters/purifiers during our gatherings. If you don't arrive with a mask, don't worry—we'll have them available at the door.

REFUND POLICY
At this time the QNSC is unable to issue refunds except on a case by case basis. If you are unable to attend an event for which you have purchased a ticket, tickets can be transferred to another person at the buyer's arrangement.
