Aid Isn’t About Ticking Boxes
Join us on Jan 8th at UTC 14:00 for a talk on "Aid Isn’t About Ticking Boxes"
After a successful career in business, Geoff Furber and his wife Liz Founded the charity Ripple Africa in 2003. Ripple Africa runs large scale environmental projects in Malawi, with the aim of empowering the communities they work with to develop without degrading their environment.
Ripple Africa’s work aims to tackle Malawi’s most pressing environmental crises: deforestation, overfishing, while also addressing food poverty and malnutrition. In addition to their environmental projects, they also run small scale education and healthcare initiatives, and in 2024 Geoff and Liz were awarded MBEs in the King’s Birthday Honour’s list. In his talk, Geoff will talk about taking a business approach to his charity work, which has enabled him to achieve massive results with minimal resources.
