About Event

Our Fall Wild Edible, Medicinal, and Useful Plants class is a perennial favorite. We'll spend the the first half of class taking a stroll and meeting some of the favorite fall edible and medicinal plants that grow here on the Pearlstone campus. During the second half of class you'll have an opportunity for hands-on gathering, processing and preparation of the nuts and fruits that are ready for harvest during the fall season. Then we'll sample our bountiful harvest and the the dishes that we'll make from it including roasted chestnuts and black walnuts, acorn bread, hickory nuts and hickory milk, persimmons, black haw berries, and a special treat this year - late fruiting paw paws (assuming the local wildlife doesn't get them first).
